Underwater Photographer Speciality - £135
This course is designed to be an introduction to be an introduction to basic underwater photography and to help the student diver develoop the skills, knowledge and practical techniques necessary to enjoy this interesting activity.
Course Overview
- the planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of underwater-photography diving
- photographic principles, composition, film types, flash/available light photography and camera-handling techniques
- the preparation, care and maintenance of photographic equipment
The goals of PADI Underwater Photographer Speciality training are:
- Understand and apply basic principles of the art and science of photography including exposure, focus, strobe photography, available light photography, camera-handling techniques and composition
- Select, prepare, care for and maintain underwater photographic equipment
- Take underwater photographs that are properly composed, focused and exposed
Course Duration
Independent study and completion of knowledge reviews
2 open water dives
Pre-requisites
Your must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organisation. (The Underwater Photography Dive conducted during the PADI Adventures in Diving program may be counted toward this speciality at the discretion of the instructor.)
Be 10 years of age or older
