Wreck Diver Course


The PADI Wreck Diver Course is designed to be an introduction to wreck diving and to help the student diver develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe wreck diving.

PADI Wreck Diver Course Overview

  • the planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving
  • the preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels
  • limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures

The goals of PADI Wreck Diver Course training are:

  • to be able to demonstrate practical wreck diving knowledge, including recognizing and avoiding potential hazards, and planning procedures that make wreck diving fun
  • to be able to explain the historical value of wrecks, social and legal issues surrounding that value and describe some of wreck diving’s implications, including the pros and cons of removing artifacts from wrecks
  • to be able to plan and organise dives to safely explore wrecks found within depths and conditions as good as or better than those the student has been trained in
  • to be able to identify the hazards of wreck penetration diving and demonstrate the techniques and procedures required to minimise those hazards

  • PADI Wreck Diver eLearning
  • 4 open water dives

PADI Wreck Diver Course pre-requisites. You must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Adventure Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organisation similar to that of a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver)
  • Be 15 years of age or older
  • Complete the PADI Continuing Education Administrative Document
